The thing is when we fall in love or becomes close to a person, we want to avoid the fact that they can do you wrong. We want to live in the illusion that they are good people even though that they are not. Because as human beings, our feelings are not ready to accept that someone we love will hurt us intentionally. We let people off the hook because we want and we wish for the illusion that they are right for us. In the process of this extensive looking away and forgiving that we end up breaking our own hearts. We blindly fall for people who don't even deserve the slightest effort we give but still we give it to them. Everyone has love to offer and we just need to learn who to give this properly to.
Accept the fact that even the ones we love the most can do you wrong and move on with it. Denying it leads to worse case scenarios that may be irreversible someday. Learn to let people go and accept that not everyone will stay.
