As I grow and realize
All the mistakes I had
I could simply brush off what happened
But we can only run to such extent
It was great while it lasted
You gave me my many firsts
Although it could have properly ended
We can only do with what we have then
Looking back I was stupid
But I will not hide behind my youth
If I was a better man then
Who knew what we could have been
And now as I grow as a person
Looking back on life's every lesson
Realizing the things I could've done better
But I cannot lament on those forever
I still feel the shame of my younger years
As I wish I had been wiser
But thank you for everything
It was fun while it lasted
I would never brush off the experience
As we had our fair share of joy and laughter
Thank you for loving a version of me
Whom I thought was impossible to love
