Troubled Luna (Part 4: Before the storm )

No one was willing to break the silence. For one, it was really awkward since they surround a sobbing girl at a convenience store. Also, the heavy atmosphere brought down the three as if someone twice their weight climbed up their back and whispered “I told you so.” No one dared to look away from the ground. It was that way until one of them decided to speak.

“You do you, we’re just here for you” Matthew said as he grabs his bag and went for the door

“Please.” Luna stopped him, grabbing also Andre and Joana.

“Not this again” they all thought in unison.

“Tell me what to do”

The three were set aback from what Luna said. For all the times she was hurt and hurting, she never asked for any advice. She only asked for someone to listen. It bothered her friends for a long time and hope that she would actually reach out. Consequently, when the moment that the three was waiting for a long time finally came, they do not have the slightest clue on what to do or say. It’s like asking for something so long that you forgot why you asked for it and the moment it lands at your palm, you have little clue on what to do with it. That is what the three are feeling right now.

Matthew ordered a meat bun and ate it. He ate it loudly. He chewed it with force that every time his teeth meet, the chewing sound resonates in the small convenience store.

Gobble. Chomp. Slurp. Burp.

Andre was one to read the room; he was annoyed but understood what was happening. Unfortunately, Joana does not share such trait and tries to stop Matthew. But he persisted more and chomped down even louder.

Luna snapped and punched Matthew square in the mouth.

He was supposed to say something but his lips became numb and his teeth are all wobbly. So he typed at his phone.

“Annoying right? But at least you realized that you can do something about the things that annoys you” he typed

It was interpreted by the girls that Luna should punch her girlfriend square in the mouth. But Andre stopped them and explained that Matthew is trying to say that Luna has more power than she knows.

After a few hard coughs, Matthew composed himself

“We’re not telling you what to do, but when you do get to talk to her and a little voice inside you will say that you choose yourself first. Listen to it.” Then he left trying to look cool but he slammed his face in the glass door. In which Andre accompanied him to the hospital.

As the boys left, Luna received a message from her girlfriend asking to reconcile and meet at the nearby park. She agreed and asked Joana as lookout.

“I guess the boys will have to sideline this one huh”
