I think we'll never be ready

 We could wait forever

And we'll never be something

I never thought that our timing was off

It's just, we were never meant for each other

To begin with

It's was never about being ready for someone

We were simply not made for each other

I could wait a thousand moon phases

And watch another thousand sunsets

And I could never get the answer

I desired so always

So I think we should've cut the crap 

Earlier, of not being ready

Because we both knew from the beginning

I stood no chance to begin with

This story had no ending 

With the two of us ending up together

So it was never a matter of being ready

You just didn't like me in the way

I like you

And that's fine

I can and will live with that
