What worsens the worst of times
are those in power so detached
from the ones under them
as if the were never once
someone on a lower rank
as if they were never
on the side on injustice once
sad to see how the oppressed then
were the oppressors now
and it turned to another cycle
of rising through the ranks
and then attacking those below
